Ensuring meaningful participation during an environmental review process through a comprehensive outreach plan.
Metro commissioned a performance analysis of various transit modes along with an assessment of the engineering challenges of running a system from Van Nuys Boulevard to the San Fernando/Sylmar Metrolink Station with the goal of improving north-south mobility through the East San Fernando Valley.
Deliverables:
Outreach to economic development and business leaders, small businesses, environmental justice groups and community organizations
Team visits door-to-door to businesses along the corridor to deliver information about the project (500+)
Participated in community festivals, pop-ups to reach out the community at large
Updated neighborhood councils, schools, and homeowner associations
Community meetings/public hearings design, logistics, and staffing
Translated Power Point presentations, collaterals and displays
Translated draft and final EIR Executive Summary
Organized and conducted light rail tour for new users
Created talking points, produced e-blasts, and press releases
Graphic design for meeting fliers banners, and newspaper ads following Metro’s standards
Maintained project’s database of 2000+ stakeholders
Monitored project’s hot line
Compiled and organized over 900 public comments in English and Spanish
Conducted all services in English and Spanish
