A Project Near and Dear to Our Hearts

KPA, Inc. is pleased to partner with KTUA to handle outreach and engagement for Imperial County Transportation Commission’s regional Active Transportation Plan. KPA, Inc. Founder and President Katherine Padilla Otanez was born and raised in the Imperial Valley and has close family and friends still residing in the Valley.

“I value the opportunity to work on projects in my hometown,” says Ms. Padilla Otanez. “At KPA, we’re committed to community-oriented work that makes a difference, such as active transportation plans, that contribute to the safety and well-being of people of all ages.”

The KPA team arranged for more than 10 pop-up events throughout the community this summer, visiting libraries from Salton City to Calexico, pools, outdoor festivals and Imperial Valley College to speak with residents first-hand and learn more about areas with safety concerns such as lack of sidewalks, crosswalks and lighting. The community feedback will be incorporated into the Plan, and there will be additional opportunities for feedback later this fall.
