Project: East San Fernando Valley Transit Corridor First-Last Mile Plan
Client: LA County Metro
Soliciting vital data that led to identification of First-Last Mile safety improvements.
KPA engaged with the community to solicit feedback about users’ experiences along key pathways in East San Fernando Valley. The project goal was to help the technical team identify issues and obstacles that needed to be addressed to create a safer and more accessible environment for pedestrians and bicyclists on their way to and from 14 newly proposed Light Rail Stations.
Deliverables:
Outreach to schools and community organizations along the 9.2 mile-long Van Nuys Boulevard
Delivered presentations and administered surveys within the communities of Van Nuys, Panorama City, Pacoima, Arleta, and the City of San Fernando
Helped organize and lead walk audits
Community workshop design, logistics and staffing for five meetings
Participated in community events
Collaborated on creation of displays following Metro’s standards
Conducted all services in English and Spanish
