Project: Grape Day Park Master Plan & Playground Design/Construction

Client: City of Escondido 

 Bilingual outreach in a diverse community to plan the future for a historic park.

Located in downtown Escondido, the 22-acre Grape Day Park offers active and passive recreational opportunities to the community. KPA sought input to prepare recommendations to make the park an inviting, safe and fun destination for individuals and families. Reaching out to a wide range of stakeholders — park-goers, renters, neighborhoods, businesses — KPA used a variety of tools to engage the public, providing City staff with a clear understanding of community interests.

• Designed and translated guide for open house group discussions

• Designed displays for workshop stations

• Social media messaging, e-blasts, phone call invites to meetings
